A Tropical December in New York.
23 December 2015
As usual there was loads to see.
The absolute highlight was catching Rachel Rose’s 'Everything and More' at the Whitney. A film describing the limits of physical sensations.
PS1 had its fourth iteration of ‘Greater New York’ with this lovely Kevin Beasley.
Paula Cooper had an amazing Claes Oldenburg & Coosje van Bruggen show.
The Jeff Koons show at Gagosian was fabulous. Choose your favourite classic artwork and add a gazing ball. I predict these are the antiques of the future.
Then the amazing Agathe Snow at Brooklyn’s Journal Gallery. I cannot believe Agathe is not more recognised by institutions. Her work is prolific and legendary. The only woman who came out of an amazing group of artists in New York in the early noughties.
Fabulous Rebecca Warren at Skarstedt Gallery.
Time for a studio visit with Donna Huanca in Brooklyn. She is great, I am such a fan of her work.
Maitreyi admiring Donna’s mossy footwear.
Then the best for last, Mark Bradford at Hauser & Wirth. Bravo!!!!!
