And the Winner Is
23 April 2012
I chugged into Brussels on Eurostar with my guardian James Brett.&nbsnbsp;
We were greeted by Mimi Dusselier and Berndt who were busy judging the Brussels art Fair Prize.
And the winner is Matt Conners - here he is with Amir Shariat and Philip Martin.
The show was a constant good quality. Simon Lee Gallery was showing Josephine Pryde.
There was definitely a hair thing going on at Laurent Godin Gallery by Vincent Olinet
Best work in the show was Bulbs and Tubers by Keith Tyson at David Risley. Look carefully at the Nature Painting and check out the ghouls!
I loved this work by Alex Dordoy at Jorg Grimm
Also Tony Matelli’s Teardrop 1971 work I could not help but notice.
Then it was a hop skip and a jump and I was in Cologne with 120 chairs to choose from by the artist Xiangyu He.
NADA was very good I loved it. Great work by Oscar Tuazon at Parkett.
Had time to visit Daniel Buchholz next to the old Cologne Nazi HQ, it was creepy. But was warmed as I entered his space and his old jewel of a family book shop was there promoting the next Art Fair!
As I left the labyrinth I walked into the white space and there was a Mark Leckey retrospective and our work bringing back memories from our show Living London.
I headed home in time for the Walead Beshty’s show at Thomas Dane. Walead standing in front of one of our works called 4 Sided Pull (Red-Green-Blue-Yellow) May 18th 2007 Valencia, CA, Kodak Supra (2008) originally shown in our fourth show at the Collection, called Past-Forward
Back at the Collection, the most wonderful performance by Liliane Lijn: a performance of poker with words called Power Game.
Ellen practicing her words and poker skills.
Liliane making sure all is perfect for the evening. Off to Berlin for Gallery Weekend, where I imagine there will be many hidden treasures.
