April: Part Two
27 April 2018
Albert Oehlen in Venice and Mat Collishaw in Prague
First stop, Venice, where we visit Albert Oehlen and his magnificent show 'Cows by the Water' at the Palazzo Grassi. I loved this intense work. The opening was a huge celebration and we were unashamedly dancing the night away till 4am
‘H.A.T. I VI’ was also a favorite of mine from back in 2009 owned by François Pinault. I was as jelly as the eye in ‘FN 33’, 1990
Our favourite work ‘Untitled (9 1/2 Weeks)’, 1995 which we displayed in our Zabludowicz Collection painting show in 2013 was on display for all to see in a little dedicated theatre
From Venice we headed onto Prague where our painting ‘Insecticide 24’, 2008 was given pride of place in Mat Collishaw’s exhibition at Rudolfinum
I loved Mat’s spinning sculpture ‘All Things Fall’, 2014 which was as usual a low tech wonderment
It was great to meet our host the Director Petr Nedoma pictured here with Mat
Time for a little Instagram fun with Harry Blain and friends!
Straight from the plane we sped to St Pancras station where Tracey Emin was showing her wonderful new neon ‘I Want My Time With You’. We then squeezed in a dinner for Hermann Nitsch
Back on a plane, sadly missing the opening of Lindsey Mendick’s Invites show at the gallery – looking amazing
