Art Basel Day 3
28 November 2021
It was back to the fair, and look what I bumped into…
This work is one of the most beautiful works by Dorothea Tanning. On every corner there was something to be seen
I kept seeing one great work after another at Skarstedt Gallery, I especially loved this George Condo painting, ‘Old Man Portrait’
Also some very interesting David Salle works, including this one from his ‘Tree of Life’ series
At Tanya Bonakdar Gallery was Tomás Saraceno’s ‘Pneuma 28.97’. This is the first time I have seen Tillandsia plants being used, a natural progression
I was mesmerised by the work of Greg Parma Smith’s ‘Universal Flower’ series, they were very special
I managed to see one museum show whilst in Basel. Migros Museum showed Korakrit Arunanondchai’s ‘Songs for dying/Songs for living’, special works which he created after his grandfather’s death
Finally out in the open, nature and art collided with Paul McCarthy’s sculpture sitting amongst the flowers in the gardens of Baur au Lac
