Art Basel Miami: Part Two
7 January 2020
There was so much GOOD art to see at the fairs!
This beautiful work by Sam Falls turns into a table and chairs
At Peres Projects Austin Lee’s new work was a mechanical feat!
I wish Sheila Hicks was in my collection
Hooper Schneider at High Art was spectacular and organic, the best work of his I have seen so far!
At Tanya Leighton I admired Sam Anderson’s sculptures, there was something special about this work called ‘E number 7’
I am still interested in the work of Willie Cole at Kavi Gupta
At NADA, 14a had a weird and wonderful self-portrait by Rachel Rossin, ‘Mythy Bird on 4:25pm’, which we snapped up
At Memphis’ Tops Gallery I loved the Yale graduate artist Kevin Ford
His airbrush paintings were magical, almost as though he is responding to the technical world
Rachel Granofsky’s pigment prints at Parisian Laundry caught my eye
Daata’s David Gryn gave a few words to introduce the works showing on the outdoor screen at the New World Symphony
Artists being shown were Bob Bicknell-Knight, Jeremy Couillard, Keren Cytter, Elliot Dodd, Anaïs Duplan, Rosie McGinn, Eva Papamargariti and Scott Reeder
Back at NADA, I saw the work of Peter Linde Busk at Derek Ellet. This is a very special ceramic piece
Daata Editions were also showing and people were queuing up to see Molly Soda ‘Forgive Me But I’m Obsessed With This Dance’
Then it was time for a little yoga in front of ‘The Last Supper’ by Zhang Huan, a moment of zen in the Miami sunshine and sea breeze
