I visited Melbourne, Australia, where I learned all about the artist Callum Morton
We visited his installation 'Valhalla' at the TarraWarra Museum of Art. The derelict building is a copy of his childhood home designed by his architect father, and was built in the wake of the Afghanistan conflict
I entered through a white doorway where I found an unexpected miniature lift lobby with an uncomfortable and noisy sound installation, including smoke. We dropped into the cool TarraWarra Museum space which is in the middle of rolling majestic hills with a winery and an incredible restaurant
It was lovely to have some time with Anna Schwartz, and together we visited Kathy Temin at her studio, where she was using soft play fabrics as a medium
Meanwhile back at home, Tiffany had hung this huge artwork by Rosie Gibbens over the balcony!
The Glenn Brown work looked majestic, currently on loan to Landesmuseum Hannover
There were visitors in non-stop see LuYang NetiNeti at the Zabludowicz Collection
We headed off to Sydney where we saw some great art at the Art Gallery of New South Wales the Sydney Modern Project. There were some grand Frances Upritchard works; real showstoppers which were totally majestic
In the museum were tons of surprises and thousands of artists I have never heard of, such as in the indigenous artist Helen Ganalmirriwuy Garrawurra
I was very impressed by this stainless steel work by New Zealand artist Michael ParekÅwhai called 'The English Channel'. The figure is of British navigator Captain James Cook
I liked Kimsoojas work 'Archive of Mind' created by audience members forming balls of clay with their hands
It was also great to see familiar art by artists such as Simone Leigh
Last to stop was to the magnificent home of Danny Goldberg, one of the great collectors I interviewed during lockdown. What a wonderful memorable short visit to Australia, one never to be forgotten
