Back to Autumnal London
5 April 2023
I managed to visit Anna Weyant's glorious show at Gagosian Gallery, and here she is in front of one of her paintings!
We were also very lucky to see Cristina Ban Ban's show at Per Skarstedt. The figures were so strong and had such a wonderful presence; I felt I was enjoying the work of a future great
I dropped into Hauser and Wirth and was stunned by the ceramics by Lucio Fontana. So strong and relevant in every way
A stunning Medusa head made out of stoneware
We saw so much wonderful art, including the works of Pawel Althamer at Anton Kern Gallery. It was his first show in USA
Then it was time to head back to London for the BFAMI Gala, and we had an incredible time! I particularly enjoyed the talk with Annie Morris and Idris Khan who were both fabulous and very generous with their time and donations
This is artist Hynek Martinec with his work 'Tristan and Isolde' which was in an old masters style with a twist!
Sandra Shashou had donated one her beautiful floral ceramics
I managed to acquire this lovely work by Olivia Bax
I loved this print by Rachael Champion
At the Zabludowicz Collection, as part of the Invites programme was an amazing workshop hosted by artist Shinuk Suh, who sees his figures as factory produced objects. It was a magical afternoon
Everyone was so intrigued and excited
Some of the galleries had some wonderful shows such as the ace Grace Weaver exhibition at Max Hetzler
Infront of the Mark Bradford work stood two very special ladies: Alexys Schwartz with baby number three and her best friend, Maria Baibakov
We saw a beautiful show by Arcmanoro Niles at Lehmann Maupin; it was a pleasure to see such great talent
Arcmanoro came to visit us at the Zabludowicz Collection!
We then enjoyed the opening for another fantastic Invites artist, Rebecca Parkin, who brought to life the intense and paintings of like subjects often overly sexualised
We went for it on full throttle and got into the gory essence with some themed food and drinks, shown to us here by curator Julia Greenway
