BFAMI Museum Trip
5 May 2017
I headed back to Israel once again and was taken on another amazing tour, this
time with BFAMI.
Israel
has an abundance of amazing things to discover but our first stop was the Tel
Aviv Museum of Art where Suzanne Landau gave us a little introduction and we
managed to catch a glimpse of their new chief curator Doron Rabina
Candida Gertler founder of Outset with lil’ sis Yana Peel and Essi Maleki standing in front of a most ambitious work by Ibrahim Mahama
It covered most of the entrance and floors, very extensive and intense
We were completely wined and dined for the whole trip, the hospitality was incredible with every meal more delicious than the last. At the British Ambassadors home, I met the lovely John Gerrard with his partner Carlos, such a great surprise
Gila Stein entertained us in her beautiful home
Rivka Sacker also kindly hosted us in amongst her fantastic collection of Israeli art
We all thought this was the most biblical sunset, a view more stunning than Ibiza
Then it was to Holon where we toured the design museum built by Ron Arad. Here’s Hazel Collins and Anke Adler Slottke, who is just about to retire from Christies
Fatima and Essi Maleki enjoying the trip immensely
Director and Chief Curator Dr. Aya Lurie showed us the diversity of work by female artists at the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art
And we managed to pop in to The Museum of Art, Ein-Harod
Our trip felt vast and diverse. We caught the work of Ronen Sharabani curated by Marie Shek at the Nachum Gutman Museum of Art. It was very impressive
Then time for a few more refreshments at our home alongside Artie Vierkant’s work for Daata Editions
We weren’t home for long though as we had a date with a beautiful house in Neve Tzedek and a chance to all have our photo taken with artist Lihi Turjeman and Marie Shek, they were certainly the stars for the day
Another trip to The Israel Museum in Jerusalem, where we visited the Youth Wing with the wonderful philanthropist Della Worms who was looking on all the wonderful projects she contributed to over the past years
A glorious glimpse of an Anish Kapoor sparkling in the sunlight
