FIAC Day 1
7 December 2021
At last I am in Paris, it has been two years since our last visit and everything was beautiful and the buildings were dreamy. Our first stop was François Pinault’s collection at the Bourse de commerce. The art works were individually magnificent, especially the David Hammons Room. The building was incredibly monolithic. Maurizio Cattelan’s pigeons have been waiting a long time to be in the right place
As we entered the grand dome, we were greeted by Urs Fischer’s magnificent sculptures made of melting wax
I liked the work of Thomas Schütte but found many of the juxtapositions a little strange
At Crèvecoeur there was an impressive presentation of Ad Minoliti
We enjoyed the work of Pavel Pepperstein, his presentation was magnificent
We liked the work by Marina Xenofontos at Hot Wheels Athens
That evening we visited the galleries. We loved the Elmgreen & Dragset show at Perrotin Gallery which was full of humour and strange references
At Almine Rech was Alex Israel’s exhibition, he was also celebrating his birthday which made it extra special
At Lafayette Anticipations we were very impressed by the conceptual work of Martin Margiela
