Finland to Turin
11 December 2021
Next stop is Finland where we begin to install artworks in the art barn, with Team Art Barn, headed by Lizzie Neilson
Lizzie curates works by Renaud Jerez and Katja Novitskova… they look incredible
Also exhibited was some very interesting sculpture, can you spot the old discarded soft animal
Meanwhile back in our Finnish country home we finally placed this stunning Alessandro Pessoli work
Alongside Team Art Barn, we also have Team School House, who is helping to build a guest lodge
Before we left, there is time to install the Jeppe Hein benches for 2022
Prior to travelling to Turin, we visit the painting exhibition at the Hayward Gallery. Some of my favourite artists are on show, just like at The Stand-Ins, there is a Caragh Thuring work
A fantastic Samara Scott window installation at the Hayward Gallery, with much more to be seen
Such as this outstanding Issy Wood painting
In Turin, there is even more to see! There is even art in the streets
We are surrounded by so many interesting sights, making up for all the lost time during lockdown. We head to Castello Di Rivoli and see the magnificent works by Michelangelo Pistoletto. Which feel incredibly AR
Last time I saw this work was in Miami, I wonder if this is the same work
We head to the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo and my favourite works were, of course, the Anj Smith paintings
There are some spectacular works by Avery Singer
The next day we visit a wonderful home and see the most beautiful garden designed by Russell Page. The weather was glorious
Finally, ANOTHER art fair and there was no shortage of things to see at Artissima. But first, we all took a lovely collector break before we begun. A big thank you to The Cultivist team who took us around
At Lia Rumma was a thought-provoking artist called Gilberto Zorio
London gallery, Yamamoto Keiko Rochaix, was showing some eye-catching ceramics by Alessandro Roma
We visited the Royal Palace and met a very interesting artwork by Fabio Viale, who is replicating famous marble sculptures and tattooing them
We had time to visit the depressing studio of Carol Rama, I could not wait to get out and in to the sunshine
I liked the Urs Fischer sculptures at Massimo De Carlo’s big, new, old house, which has been converted into a gallery
One last visit to Fondazione Merz; Mario and Marisa Merz were so important to the Turin art scene
