Jon Rafman Opening
27 October 2015
Now the October games
really begin!
It all started with our opening of the Jon Rafman exhibition and Charles Richardson, who is showing alongside as part of our Invites programme.
The whole day and night was a massive success with over a thousand people checking out the shows. We then followed it with a stunning after-party, dancing into the night with a great crowd at the same space as Carsten Höller’s old Double Club in Islington.
During the day we were treated to a number of ‘Daata Edition’ artists who have all produced commissions for the online platform. Here’s three of them, Helen Beningson, Matt Copson and Charles Richardson hanging out with one of Jon’s new sculptures.
We were also delighted to see the Kiasma gang at the gallery with Arja Miller and Leevi Haapala leading the way.
Then one of the first investors for Oculus Rift, Joe Lonsdale came in to give it a whirl and see what Jon had produced.
A great group, all of whom I am proud to say are in the Collection. Kevin Beasley, who will be showing at Modern Art Oxford soon. Artie Vierkant about to catch a train, and Christopher Kulendran Thomas who is currently showing in CO-WORKERS at MaM, Paris.
The Zab. team running the ball pit through its paces.
Pre-party we caught some down time and a late lunch at my house with an impromptu birthday cake for Attilia Fattori Franchini from Seventeen. Another fun moment to chalk up in a pretty hectic but fantastic week.
