London to Zurich
3 August 2022
Finland was waiting for us having woken up from a long and snowy winter. Some of the artists had already started their residency
Meanwhile at the Israel Museum overlooking the hills was the beautiful Tracey Emin sculpture ‘The Mother’, which was being installed, and was donated by BFAMI
In London, we visited the Serpentine Pavillion 2022 Black Chapel. Designed by Chicago-based artist Theaster Gates, the Black Chapel draws inspiration from many of the architectural typologies that ground the artist’s practice
It was fun to celebrate Tiffany’s new acquisition for her birthday, ‘Egret (Tough Shit Tiffany)’ by Dan Attoe
Kathleen Ryan had an amazing show at Josh Lilley called ‘Red Rose’. What looks organic turns into something industrial
I dropped into the NFT Gallery where the show ‘Surface Tension’ allows objects with a higher density than liquid to rest on its surface. Here is Yasmine Datnow with Lynn Rosenberger, Lilien Hornung-Mary and Ilayda Danisman in front of a Sarah Meyohas
We dropped in to see a wonderful show at Christie’s called ‘The Art of Literature’ where we saw a selection of great art works and literature which were connected to each other, such as Peter Doig’s ‘Red Boat’ with the writings of Derek Walcott. Here’s curator Annabel Scholar
Afterwards, we enjoyed a beautiful lunch to celebrate this very special occasion
We arrived in Zurich and the sunset was glorious; it looked like a Manet painting in the late spring light. People were basking in the sun and swimming in the cool lakes
We managed to drop into Galerie Eva Presenhuber where we saw a stunning Ugo Rondinone
This Jean-Marie Appriou was also not to be missed, titled ‘Ama (pikoka)’
