Melbourne
Just outside Melbourne we visited Pt. Leo Estate’s sculpture park where we bumped into our old friend Ugo Rondinone
Melbourne
Lovely to see Jeppe Hein’s mirrored installation but for me it was lacking in mystery
Melbourne
We then went to the National Gallery of Victoria where KAWS has some great works on view, from the early days of graffiti bus shelters to his sweetly disturbing sculptures
Melbourne
The rooms were thoughtfully curated and the juxtapositions were total eye candy
Melbourne
At Buxton Contemporary, Australian artist Louise Weaver had a beautiful show which I deeply admired
Melbourne
My highlight was visiting ACCA, a brilliant institutional space. I set my sights on the work of Tianzhuo Chen, a fascinating look at the nightclub as a present day temple, pushing the boundaries of human desire
Melbourne
So great to see Zadie Xa, like Tianzhuo, her work is all about a spiritual journey in her land of imagination
Melbourne
The museum was full of amazing characters!
Melbourne
Lu Yang’s work, ‘The Great Adventure of Material World’, was full of adventure and philosophy based on her Buddhist upbringing
Melbourne
Another highlight was visiting Anna Schwartz Gallery – a light and airy space with some great Australian art
Melbourne
I loved Mikala Dwyer’s exhibition, ‘Earthcraft’ was strong and full of character
Melbourne
On my final walk through Melbourne there was much to see. Creativity in this city is very strong and organic
