Paris: Final Day
29 October 2017
Another day another fair!
In the morning we checked out the Ida Ekblad sculpture ‘Filles Interdites (Gate)’, 2017 outside the Petit Palais
Then a few visits to galleries. Haegue Yang at Galerie Chantal Crousel was strange and intriguing!
Her work is spiritual, like Haroon Mirza, exploring psychic abilities
Over at Almine Rech there was a wonderful George Condo show with such a brilliant sense that we were surrounded by fine art. Condo reflects the problems of today in such a bright and truthful way
Then it was a quick visit to Paris Internationale where I was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of talent we saw. At Antenna Space’s presentation Allison Katz’s work ‘Arsi-versi’ was one of my favourites
It was lovely to meet Kelly Akashi at Ghebaly Gallery!
Poju stopped for a chat with Simone Subal on Isabelle Leijn’s ‘Sunny Side up’, 2001 sofa
There were some lovely works including this cool dude by Renaud Jerez at Jenny’s booth
And this wonderful shower work by KAYA (Kerstin Brätsch & Debo Eilers) at Deborah Schamoni
In the evening we went to see the brilliant works by Camille Henrot. She managed to nearly fill up the whole of the Palais de Tokyo with her immense works along with the help of her friends Avery Singer and Samara Scott
The show called ‘Days are Dogs’ is structured on the week with each room representing a different day. The perfect end to my final day in Paris - now I head back home for a quieter life #nomoreartfairs!
