Queen of Margate
29 May 2012
Back to London and straight to Yael Bartana's installation “And Europe Will be Stunned”
As usual Artangel’s installation was wonderfully executed in the modernist town hall in Crouch End - the perfect setting.
I manage to make some time between London and New York to visit the Slade BA show the work of Gabriella Sonnabend
...and mystery woman was most interesting.
I missed our 'Invites' opening with John Summers. His work is totally bonkers and like Franz West he has his own distinct language.
A quick visit to Margate to visit the “Grande Dame” in the making - Tracey. She was at her happiest amongst all her closest friends in Hamish’s back yard facing the English Channel.
Saying a few words in-front of all her friends.
Tim Noble and David Adjaye turned up for the event.
The reason we were there in Margate was to visit Turner Contempory’s magnificent building designed by David Chipperfield. One of Tracey’s poetic works lying before us.
