Summer is in the air!
12 July 2013
Not much happening on my side now as I am slowing down for the summer but before I stop completely I head to Heather K’s Masterpiece, there is always time to take in some art!
I love the Wim Delvoye concrete mixer.
Such a contrast to Alex da Cunha’s version now installed outside the Monsoon Collection. The question is which one for our collection, hmmmmm?
Great photo shot of Amanda going for the Trekkie love - all you Vulcans out there eat your heart out.
Berry Patten opens in Invites at Zabludowicz collection. I like her work and I loved her take on art.
Eddie Peake, Berry Patten, Lora Hristrova and Hannah Perry
Then once we had the all clear by our wonderful friendly police control…
the drinks were out and Sam Taylor Wood art bar sprung into life for the University of the Arts London where were out in full force.
UAL alumni Laura Buckley and Mark Titchner reminisce about the good old days back in college.
Head of Post Grads at Chelsea Brian Chalky hanging out with 1964 alumni Nancy Foots and her lovely sister – both not looking a day older than a day older.
And before I head off to Finland for the summer I have time to acquire for the collection a most beautiful Matthew Weir from Alison Jacques.
Then I head off to the South of France and Eminville for some fun in the sun. It is Tracey’s big birthday. The evening starts with the church choir singing her favourite hymns.
Photographer Richard Young and his muse.
Followed by some very meaningful speeches. All Tracey's friends are very real just like her. Jay Jopling spoke about the first time they met and the three letters he received a few weeks later telling him about her life.
A very proud Jay, Rachel Lehman and Lorcan O’Neill were taking it all in. What a special evening.
Back in London I headed to Mustufa Hulusi’s studio where I viewed his new Ceramic works which are very interesting.
Then our book launch where Mustafa and Lizzie are relaxing in the evening sun - a rare thing in London.
Tiffany arrived at last back in the UK.
It was my goodbye to Ellen who has worked for the Collection for six years. A cocktail was created for the evening in Ellen’s honour.
It was a very sad, moving and hard to say goodbye but it was amazing to be celebrating all that she has achieved. I will miss her but she assured me she will be around and there will be many interesting projects in the future.
Then we head to Denmark, Copenhagen where we are welcomed by David Risley.
We manage to aquire an awesomePer Kirkeby painting for the collection.
After visiting his cool gallery we head to Gallery Bo Bjerggaard - with their toilet designed by Johnathan Meese modelled by Tiffany.
When I return back to London it will be MIMS is the word. Watch this space...
