Thanksgiving

11 December 2017

I headed to New York for a quick visit - two big occasions taking place! It’s Thanksgiving, making me feel thankful for the food we eat and getting me in the mood for Tiffany’s curated show 'STRAY'

Thanksgiving
‘STRAY’ is a big success and I was a very proud mother. Here I am with Tiffany admiring the work of Ivana Bašić
Thanksgiving
Hayden Dunham also made quite a splash with her dystopian floor work ‘GEL’, 2015
Thanksgiving
We had an array of wonderful visitors including Peter Fleisig, artist Scarlett Lingwood and James Lingwood who heads Artangel, a public art fund in the UK
Thanksgiving
It was lovely to visit the Max Ernst show and see some modern masters at MoMA. This work is ‘Napoleon in the Wilderness’, 1941. I love Peggy Guggenheim, who was married to Ernst, attitude whereby she is grateful for her mistakes
Thanksgiving
There were so many wonderful shows on at MoMA including Louise Bourgeois’ ‘An Unfolding Portrait’
Thanksgiving
I very much enjoyed the artworks in the Stephen Shore exhibition
Thanksgiving
Thankfully there was enough time to chill in MoMA’s new architectural spaces
Thanksgiving
We went to see the Rudolf Stingel exhibition at Gagosian - the sunsets were stunning
Thanksgiving
There was also time to visit Nahmad Contemporary where there was a wonderful show called ‘Grau’ by Albert Oehlen. Many grey paintings were on view which emphasised the expertise and breadth of technique of Oehlen’s work
Thanksgiving
Then downtown to walk through Ai Weiwei’s arch which forms part of his ‘Good Fences Make Good Neighbors’ project
Thanksgiving
At Leslie Lohman Museum for Gay & Lesbian Art we were very excited to see Barbara Hammer’s ‘Evidentiary Bodies’ - note the Guerrilla Girls
