The New Art Basel

There was much to see at Art Basel including the artist Yan Pei-Ming at Thaddaeus Ropac. He was very proud of his work of a young queen

Yayoi Kusama was unable to make it but she sent her avatar!
At Luhring Augustine was an interesting work by Christina Forrer titled ‘Ponies in the Forest’
At Simone Subal Gallery I liked the work of Mie Yim
Also at Simone Subal was a beautiful scukpture by Jesse Wine
I enjoyed the works by Benoît Piéron
At Andréhn Schiptjenko was an erotic Casja Von Zeipel work
Then the question of art or no art by Iris Touliatou ‘untitled (still not over you)’
At Gentil Carioca was an impressive installation by Maxwell Alexandre
After a busy day, I was off to meet Hans Ulrich Orbrist and Caroline Bourgeois
They showed us ‘Time No Longer, a video projected onto a vast curved screen at the Bourse de Commerce
We had time to visit the book shop of Yvonne Lombard where I bumped into Gabriel Kuri
Then I bumped into Matthew Lutz-Kinoy where he showed me his array of ceramics
