Venice: Day 1
31 May 2011
First stop Belgium and I am in or with the work of Angel Vergara He has layered glass panels over video screens and shown his emotional response with paint Bravo!
Nathaniel Mellors video Our House Episode 2 and 1 is gripping in an English way.
Gabriel Kuri was so sensitive and delicate. The works that was shown were just perfect.
We were proud to see Amalia Pica works strewn before us undoubtedly very sophisticated. My art guru Marc Foxx will be very proud.
Also I am astonished by the beauty of R H Quaytman.
Something very mysterious of the work of Nairy Baghramian but I like it. Reminds me a little of Nicholas Deshayes.
Bravo Bravo Gloria by Allora and Calzadilla an AA Chair an ATM Organ.
More Allora and Calzadilla
Then Mike Nelson: it was beyond wonderful, we were entering a little abandoned scary courtyard somewhere hidden in the depths of Venice I was astounded by the sympathethic allegiance to the Venetian surroundings then entering a scary world of intrigue and hideouts.

The ecological work of Sigalit Landau was atmospheric and dealing with precious minerals from the land and sea with some interesting shoe lace tying in between.
And more Mike Nelson
Then off to Church in the German Pavillion where there were even more weird things going on, everyone was praying but they did not know what for... their were children's coffins too.
Miniatures of the last supper watching large screen TV and a three way screen of two xrays and a boy scrubbing himself in the shower brrrrrr.
Seth Price in the Italian Pavilion
Haroon Mirza - genius - the work is so unlike any one else's and it is vibrant and exciting.
