VENICE DAY 4

I apologize if I bore you with Venice but for me it was a gold mine of wonders. There was so much performance art everywhere.

Venice - Day 4
Vadim Zakharov work Danae was raining a golden shower in the Russian pavilion.
Venice - Day 4
Iceland’s Ragnar Kjartansson presented SS Hangover floating around the Arsenale. It was a big hit.
Venice - Day 4
Their started to be a blur between performance and reality, everyone was getting in on the act there was definitely something in the air as demonstrated by Tiffany and Lizzie.
Venice - Day 4
Probably because the setting of Venice is almost a backdrop to some spectacular play and we are the players. Gil and Sharon Brandes taking a well deserved break from the Biennale.
Venice - Day 4
Tino Seghal, winner of the Golden Lion. Actors sat in the centre of the old Italian Pavilion gesticulating in tune to strange vocal soundwaves, as other actors walked casually around the scene. Not at all my favourite Tino performance but based on his previous work maybe a Golden Lion was in order.
Venice - Day 4
Romania was one of my favourites the work of Maria Alexandra Pirici and Manuel Pelmus. I even joined in with the actors.
Venice - Day 4
The work was called “An Immaterial Retrospective of the Venice Biennale” Here are two of the actors demonstrating Cattelan’s Pope struck by a meteorite.
Venice - Day 4
And the original.
Venice - Day 4
The Peckham Pavilion was a vibrant and brilliant haunt. Samara Scott had produced an incredible work, and intensive tapestry of a carpet which everyone walked on with unprotected shoes. Myself and Rebecca King Lassman down in the carpet mosh pit...
Venice - Day 4
Then a quick hangout with artist Rachel Lord with her macho bar men serving us strong coco beans and her very interesting media installation.
Venice - Day 4
Another wonderful surprise for me was Iranian Artist Anahita Razmi who had created a work after the Kevin Spacey film American Beauty called Iranian Beauty.
Venice - Day 4
The Venezia Pavillion was a beautiful work by Marya Kazoun.
Venice - Day 4
The performance element had cheekily snuck of for a quick smoke.
Venice - Day 4
Finally a quick stop at the ladies where I bumped into my two favourite performance artists Eva and Adele - no art fair or biennale would be the same without them.
