Venice: Day 2
2 June 2011
Yana my little sista turned up with her multicoloured toes.
Little Diane Delphine De Pury was contemplating on what her next move was as Ellen was nibbling her way through her Sardine lunch.
I caught up with Francis Morris and Candida Gertler on their way to see Karla Black at the Scottish Pavilion.
Elena Foster's show Real Venice was lovely she was hanging out with Nan Goldin who I was so delighted to meet for the first time.
Then we joined in at Julian Schnabel's at his block buster show at the Museum Correr
Terence Koh and myself taking a break
Meanwhile back at HQ Haroon and Rashid were waiting for us for a night cap.
Rashid Johnson started to work with some new experimental processes.
Wednesday in VeniceAs I entered the Arsenale I timidly pointed my foot towards the long labrynth expecting the WOW factor. But all was restrained and serene, (rightly so) at last I spot one of our art works by Annette Kelm.
Mai Thu Perret work was elegant.
We have all decided it is now the GOO era for art...so many artists now using GOO. Karla Black, Franz West, Nicholas Deshayes and many more too
Tale of Two Toilets would look amazing next to the Gober sink.
Jean-Luc Mylayne's poignant works caught in a moment, nicely juxtaposed opposite works of Rebecca Warren enveloped the huge room.
I was so happy to see again one of Fabian Marti's incredible structure as suddenly my blood pressure was at last starting to rise...
Nick Relph was playing with collage in film and recordings and colour and past technology. I really liked this work.
Then we were jumping into Haroon's spooky circle of white fire.I stood in disbelief in Dani Gal room where every one watches a grey screen but I am assured that everyone was waiting for the film to start called night and fog.
Urs Fischer is setting things alight...
Help a man's head and chair on fire!
Ryan Gander's two little ballerinas are taking a break of their plinths and having a chat
Luckily Josh Smith had kindly cut out his work making the fire hose accessible.
On my way out I bumped in to the two Outset girls Yana and Candida
Outside the Giardini
Also loved this lady reading the newspaper.
Glamorous girls on the water taxi
Then to the Cardignoto famitly to visit Tate Cocktail where Nick Serota and Ed Vaizey gave a lovely welcome speech.
Then of to Carole Green and sadie Coles for dinner great photo of Carol and one of the gang from Gelatin.
Then to White Cube party at the Monaco to watch the clock chime at midnight!
