Weighted Words
5 March 2012
Openings at home and around town....
On my way to the CAS dinner I finally get to see Andy Holden’s work at Cubitt called The Dan Cox Library For The Unfinished Concept Of Thingly Time. It is a very sad story, the collaboration with Dan Cox ended in tragedy as he died in an accident. Feel a little uneasy around the work.
Then to see Alexander at the Islington Business Centre where he received first prize for design of his Arclite Great for art lighting up art.
Then it was the CAS dinner where Charlotte Artus with her very pretty red nose and Bellinda de Gaudema posed for me in their circus chic. Everyone looked spectacular.
The theme was circus and even Oliver Barker had to use his acrobatic skills as he worked two rooms at once.
Then our opening of Weighted Words. James Lingwood checking out Ryan Trecartin’s intricately thought out scripts.
Ellen and I taking the weight of our feet and listening to Ruth Ewan’s Jukebox “A jukebox of people trying to change the world”
Anthony Green checking out the music.
Alexander Singh in front of the most perfect Glass of Claret. The work is called The Dialogues of the Objects 1-V. Objects become talk to each other in a theatrical setting.
We had a wonderful lunch at home so many of the artists involved with Weighted Words joined us. Lizzie speaking to us all. Including Hannah Perry who is opening on Thursday in INVITES at 176
Rob Tuffnell, Richard Sides, Uriel Orlow, Ed Atkins and Anthony Green
Anna Barham with her lovely baby Iris.
The show was wonderful all the artists were impeccably displayed to perfection. Glen Ligon’s Warm Broad Glow.
