Urbanist and architectural historian Ben Campkin gives a lecture on images of urban degradation as a driving force in London's 'regeneration'.
Ben Campkin is Director of the UCL Urban Laboratory and Senior Lecturer in Architectural History and Theory in the Bartlett School of Architecture. Ben is co-editor of Dirt: New Geographies of Cleanliness and Contamination (2007), an anthology exploring how beliefs about dirt have influenced the production of space. Ben has recently completed a book with the working title Capital dreams: projections of decline in the remaking of modern London (IB Tauris, spring 2013), an interdisciplinary cultural history of urban regeneration in London.
