Artist Jake Elwes part of digital festival, Present Futures 2021

Present Futures 2021 (Glasgow) is the fourth edition of a multi-disciplinary art event curated by Colette Sadler and produced by Feral.
Running from the 5 – 7 February, this 2021 digital edition of the festival has been described as ‘a virtual space and prism through which the local and global can come together to consider post humanism, bodily representation and speculative futures with artistic experimentation at its core’, and includes interactive 1-on-1 performances, panel discussions, film screenings and workshops.

Zabludowicz Collection artist, Jake Elwes, together with DJ and 3D Artist, VAJ Power, will be collaborating with the DJ / VJ set, VAJ.Power X Queering the Dataset, 10pm this Friday 5 Feb.
In this collaboration VAJ Power will create a VJ set utilising Elwes’ video work alongside a selection of music showcasing queer artists.

Jake Elwes will also be part of the panel discussion, Artist to Artist Conversation: Subverting the Dataset, alongside Libby Odai, Libby Heaney and Bani Haykal 5pm this Saturday 6 Feb.
Using the idea that AI only learns from what it is shown inheriting the biases of the people who built them, as a starting point, questions will be asked and discussed, exploring the work of artists and creative technologists who are subverting the dataset through their practice.
