Wave: Summer Fundraising Exhibition for Women + Health Charity
19 July 2022
Women + Health charity, Cob Gallery, and Women + Health ambassador and Zabludowicz Collection Director Elizabeth Neilson are delighted to present a summer fundraising exhibition of female and non-binary artists in support of the Camden-based charity and its vital services.
Women + Health has been supporting isolated and vulnerable women, including those who are survivors of domestic violence and rape, for over 30 years and provides essential services including counselling, holistic physical therapies, and wellbeing support. The charity has offered a lifeline to local women, helping them overcome multiple health challenges, but the impact of Covid-19 has brought extra financial pressures. Domestic violence soared during the pandemic, highlighting the necessity of and putting a strain on the safe spaces and services of Women + Health.
In response to this, Wave brings together emerging and established artists in support of the charity’s work.
Participating artists include, Shadi Al-Atallah, Rafaela de Ascanio, Eileen Cooper, Gaia Fugazza, Natalia Gonzalez Martin, Marcelle Hanselaar, Anna Kenneally, Rachel Kneebone, Robyn Litchfield, Candida Powell-Williams, Faye Wei Wei and Alison Wilding.
Galleries’ commission will go directly to Women + Health. Many of the artists are also donating their commission, meaning that 100% of sales will go to the charity.
A private view will be held at Cob Gallery on Thursday 4th August, 6-9pm, where artist Eileen Cooper will be in conversation with art historian Frances Borzello, with drinks provided by Something & Nothing Spritz. Following this, local club Koko will host drinks at their newly renovated bar until late.
Wave will be open to the public from Friday 5 August - Sunday 14 August 2022.
