Zabludowicz Collection is proud to support Pangaea Sculptors' Centre in their most ambitious project yet

Founded by collection artist Lucy Tomlins, Pangaea is a female and artist-led not-for-profit supporting contemporary sculptors and innovation in sculptural practice. We are proud to support them in prototyping a new form of public art installation that responds to the climate crisis. Built from the sustainable materials of clay and straw it will be created in public - revealing what usually goes on behind the scenes and in artists’ studios - before being slowly eroded with water to reveal the inner-workings before inevitable collapse and return to the earth. All excess materials will be reused, recycled and returned to the supply chain or nature.
For over a year and a half Pangaea curators Lucy Tomlins in the UK, and Nandita Palchoudhuri in India, have been working with lead artists Rachael Champion, Amy and Oliver Thomas-Irvine, Jim Woodall and Dolon Kundu to build links for collaborating with communities in Coventry and Warwickshire.
We are happy to see so many artists that we have worked with in the past come together in this project and wish them every success. We are putting our support behind this and hope you can too. The project will follow on from the Coventry City of Culture 2021 and with your support will happen in July 2022. Zabludowicz Art Projects is a member of GCC. Climate Crisis needs all of us to take responsibility and control to cut our carbon emissions and take the drastic action needed to save our planet. Projects such as this raise awareness and connect people to the value of the earth and its resources.
