MASTER CLASS 2022
2022 Guest Artists: Matthew Day Jackson, Shana Moulton, Paul Pfeiffer and Anj Smith.
Selected through a nationwide open call, Master Class offers the unique and free opportunity for eight emerging artists to work closely with leading international artists. The programme aims to create opportunities for emerging artists to develop their critical artistic voices through artist led and peer to peer learning.
During the week-long intensive programme, artists have the chance to discuss and develop their practices through a series of lectures, tutorials, workshops, studio and gallery visits and seminars. The week is structured around four public lectures and closed teaching days from the guest artists.
Master Class seeks to consolidate individual artistic practices, helping the artists develop sustainable art practices by equipping artists with practical skills and insight in managing, cataloguing, documenting, writing, and presenting their works to curators, gallerists and other arts professionals.
The guest artists for Master Class 2022 are Matthew Day Jackson, Shana Moulton, Paul Pfeiffer and Anj Smith.
The Master Class programme was established in 2012 in collaboration with artist Doug Fishbone. In this anniversary year we will digitally deliver the programme, allowing us to connect artistic practices around the globe direct to early career artists in the UK.
In addition to having unparalleled access to these internationally renowned artists, the Master Class participants are also able to build a national network of peers.
The artists participating in this year’s initiative are: Milo Creese (South East), Calum Douglas (South West), Sian Fan (South East), Tracey McMaster (Wales), Ivo Pacheco (London), Yasmine Robinson (Northern Ireland), Olivia Strange (London), Sophie Anne Wyth (North)
